Default Autocorrect list goes missing

My autocorrect list just dissappears. Luckily I know how to back it up and
restore it. When it dissappears the only entries left are the default ones.
It is happening more frequently and I haven't found any solutions.

AutoCorrect or AutoText? These are very different.

See http://addbalance.com/word/movetotemplate.htm for step-by-step
instructions on moving / sharing / copying / backing-up customizations
including AutoText, AutoCorrect, keyboard assignments, toolbars, macros,
etc.

Are you backing up the .acl file or using the backup utility from the MVP
FAQ site?

Are your AC entries formatted (stored in normal.dot) or are they
unformatted? Does it make a difference in which ones dissappear?

If formatted, it is likely that something is either blocking saves to
normal.dot or rewriting normal.dot periodically. Are your AC entries ever
there when you restart word?
