Default why do I not have access to save word file on 'D:' drive on lptop

I am trying to save a word document on my personal laptop (new) and a message
tells me that i do not have access to the D drive and i should see my
administator. Who is my adninistator and what can i do?

Would D drive be a CD/DVD writer by any chance?
Save to the hard drive and copy to the writer. Never ever try to save Word
documents to removable media. It is a constant source of document
corruption.
