Default it should be easier in word to get my document read to me!

I have the speech ability when going through 'my computer' and i can select a
voice but it seems impossible to find out how to get it to read a word
document to me, may be being incapable but if it is easy to find it should be
easier and if not, how do you do it???? cheers, x
