Default Running macro copied from another computer

I want to run macros made with keyboard commands and that come from another
computer. I went through Tools, Macro, Macros, and added through Organizer.
The macros won't run. They do show up in the list of macros.

If you can invoke the macros through Tools / Macro / Macros / {pick
your macro} but not with the keystroke commands (from the other
computer), then that's a simple fix.

Go to Tools / Customize / Keyboard (button at the bottom of the dialog
box) / Categories: Macros / Select your macro from the dialog / Press
new shortcut key. And that should assign it to the keystroke
combination you want.

If you can't invoke the macros through the menu bar, then you have
other problems.

I copied the macros from Computer 1 to Computer 2 by copying the .dot they
were made on in Computer 1. The macros do show up in Computer 2 under the
macro list in Tools, Macro, Macros, but I can't get them to run by using
alt+ctrl+a or whatever letter, as I could in Computer 1. I can run these
macros, however, by Tools, Macro, Macros, selecting the macro I want, and
then Run. This seems like an inconvenient way to executive these macros.

As Ted requested, you must be more specific in order for anyone to offer
responsible replies, but one piece of 'general' info if I'm guessing
correctly...

Although you can copy the macros as you have done, Keystroke shortcuts
assigned to them on one system _do not_ come along for the ride, as they are
not a part of the code. Assuming that all else is compliant, you can still
run the macros from the Macros dialog box and you can also assign your own
kybd shortcuts as well as add them to toolbars & menus.

I believe there is a file that has those keystrokes recorded within, but I
can't remember the specifics on the PC... Probably less trouble to assign
your own, but perhaps someone else can help out on that if need be.

Macros are stored in templates (and occasionally documents). With the source
and target templates open you can use the organizer to copy macros. Tools
