Default Cursor won't stay where mouse clicks.

I can't edit a document because cursor won't stay where mouse is clicked.
Cursor jumps back to first character in document. Using MSWord 2003 with MS
XP Home.
Other documents are not affected. Using laptop PC.. Copies on CD have same
problem. Changed name of file and have same problem. Even put CD in Mac G5
using MS Word and OS X with same problem.

It could be a form. That would do it, assuming we're not looking at a case
where you are touching the touchpad accidentally.
