Default Text Boundries

I can not get the text to go to the right margin. When I turn on the text
boundries it shows the boundry about 1.5 inches to the left of the margin
setting. It is now my default page and I can not change it. I can send a
small .doc file to anyone that wants to see what I am dealing with.

This is a long shot, but go to Format | Columns and click on the One button
(even if one column is already selected).
