Does anybody notice that the default ruler line in Word is calibrated in 8ths
of an inch, and yet all our formatting is done in 10ths of an inch? Is there
a way, and how can I change the ruler line in Word to display 10ths of an
inch, rather than 8th of an inch.

There is no way to change this. The metric system works logically, though :-)
