Is there a way to create a TOC entry from a Heading Style that includes only
some of the text in a paragraph? For example, I have a glossary document that has many name/definition entries in the following format: 2.5 Foo "Foo" means .... In the above example, there is a Heading 2 named "Foo" that is auto-numbered to 2.5. The next paragraph in normal text and is the definition of Foo. The problem is that this type of formatting takes up a lot of space in the document. I would prefer to format the document as follows: 2.5 Foo. "Foo" means... I have tried marking the Foo text after the autonumber as Heading2 and the rest of the text be a non-Heading font. I have also made the paragraph marker at the end of the paragraph be a non-Heading font. Unfortunately, when the TOC is generated it uses all of the text of the paragraph as the TOC entry (clearly not what I want). I tried using TC fields, however, I cannot seem to get them to pickup the Autonumbering, and I don't want to type in the heading levels into to the TC field text (since it can and does change with some frequency as I organize the doc). Any input on how to solve this problem would be appreciated... Thanks in advance... |
