How do I find the fog index for a piece of writing in a Word document?

You'll have to calculate it yourself, or find some third-party
software that will calculate it for you. Word displays the Flesch
Reading Ease score and the Flesch-Kincaid grade level in the results
box of the manual spelling check (F7), but not the Fog index. The
definitions of the indices are different enough
(http://www.usingenglish.com/glossary...aid-index.html and
http://www.usingenglish.com/glossary/fog-index.html) that you can't
convert directly from one to the other.
