When I first open Word and when I close it, it seems to take forever. I also
use WordPerfect and it opens quickly every time and closes quickly. Sometimes, when I want to prepare a document, I go to WordPerfect just because I don't want to go through the wait for Word to open. When I say a "long" time, I'm talking 15-20 seconds vs. WordPerfect at less than 3 seconds. |

Hi Anne:
Just wanted you to know that the article to which you referred me solved my problem. Thanks so very much for taking the time to respond. I had a corrupt Normal.dot file, so all I had to do was close Word, find the file named Normal.dot on my hard drive and rename it Abnormal.dot. Then when I reopened Word it automatically created a brand new "clean" Normal.dot template file. Thanks again, and take care. "Eagle41" wrote: Thanks so much Anne, I will check it out!
