This issue occurred when the user received a computer upgrade was from Word
2000 to Word 2002 SP3. A Customer called because since he got his new PC and new version of Word, he noticed that pictures that he had pasted into Word tables are now 'floating' out of the tables. Customer informed me that going forward, he is able to get the pictures to stay in the tables he created for them, however all of his old Word documents have 'floating' pictures. Customer just had this issue today. Is there a way to get the pictures back in the tables in a document without using copy and paste? -- tj |

Hi ?B?dGp0amp0anQ=?=,
This is going to depend a lot on exactly how the pictures were inserted into the tables. It sounds very much as if they were inserted with "float" active and simply positioned over the table cells, rather than being inserted directly INTO the cells. Since table functionality and layout has changed in later versions of Word, it's quite possible that the tables are actually laying out differently, and thus the graphics are moving. Really hard to say without knowing how the documents were created to begin with; and what the user expects of them. He *might* be able to get things back again by selecting "Word 2000" in Tools/Options/Compatibility, if that's not set. If it is, then there's not going to be any easy fix. If all he wants is the pictures IN the table cells, then he should use the Picture toolbar or the Format/Picture/Layout dialog to position these "in line with the text". Then they won't EVER move.
