Normally Word used to promote an outline element by pressing "tab" or demote
by pressing "shift+tab", but now all it will do is add a tab after the title. Does anyone know how to fix this? |

If you have Word 2000 or earlier, check the box for "Tabs and backspace set
left indent" on the Edit tab of Tools | Options. If you have Word 2002 or 2003, check the box for "Set first- and left-indent with tabs and backspaces" on the AutoFormat As You Type tab of Tools | AutoCorrect Options. -- Suzanne S. Hi ?B?amFja19taWNo?=,
Normally Word used to promote an outline element by pressing "tab" or demote by pressing "shift+tab", but now all it will do is add a tab after the title. Personally, I prefer Shift+Alt+Left/Right arrow; it's always been more reliable for me. I know which feature/option you mean, but where to access it depends on the version of Word, which you don't mention?
