When I type ### plus a Enter (return) I get a solid black line. I can't find
a macro that would convert the ### signs. I use the ### as a separator when I am writing a manuscript. It is a publishers standard. What am I doing wrong? |

You're not doing anything wrong! Word is trying to help you but in this
case, it's not doing what you want. You can change the setting ... Tools AutoCorrect AutoFormat as You Type tab Under "Apply as you type", UNcheck "Border Lines" Or, you can just press Ctrl+Z when it happens. -- Enjoy, Tony "Hilltop Guy" Hilltop wrote in message ... what if I didn't Undo it at that time, it appears a think line with whole
page width. Later on if I want to remove the line, I couldn't simply delete the line by pressing backspace nor delete. What Can I DO? Thanks "Tony Jollans" wrote: You're not doing anything wrong! It is an assine feature of Word (IM, in this case not so, HO) that applies a
bottom paragraph border. Click immediately above the line and then FormatBorders and ShadingBorders. Click the "None" pane on the left side and click OK. For the 1 and a blue billion people that might like this feature I think MS has frustrated at least a blue billion - 1 other users. -- Greg Maxey/Word MVP See: http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/word_tips.htm For some helpful tips using Word. I am having the same problem with *** - however, when I uncheck "Border
Lines" in autoformat as you type, it doesn't correct the problem. Any other ideas? -- Sandra "Tony Jollans" wrote: You're not doing anything wrong! Unchecking that option will stop Word from creating more such borders, but
it won't take out any that already exist. For that, you place the cursor in the paragraph above the line, go to Format Borders & Shading, and select "None" for the border type. If that makes the border jump up to the preceding paragraph, you can select the whole document and change Borders to "None". Thanks. I unchecked the option several days ago and am still having the
problem with new input.
