Default New docs saved as read-only

Whenever I save new documents in Word XP to my PC (hard drive), they
are getting saved as read-only files. I have not made any changes in
the Tools Options settings, so I'm curious why this is happening. Has
anyone come accross this or seen this before?

Thanks for the help,
Chris S.

See the article "Word insists on asking "Open as read-only?" when printing
read-only files from Windows Explorer" at:
