Default How do I use a scanned signature in Word and Outlook

What is the best method for using a scanned signature in both Word and
Outlook? I am assisting someone with this, but I am not sure if I should
just use 'Insert' / 'Picture from file' in Word, or if there's a better way.

Is there a way to create this once for use in both Word and Outlook? Thanks
for pointing me in the right direction!

In Word choose Tools | Options
Switch to the General tab, and click E-Mail Options
Create one or more signatures
Select the signature you want to be inserted automatically
Click OK until you return to your document or message

Use Insert | Picture | From File once, then select the signature and save it
as an AutoText entry. From then on you can insert it by typing the first
four characters of the unique name you've given it, then pressing Enter. See

I don't see any way that this could be used in a Word document, however.
What am I missing?

What you can do, is convert the signature into a font. There are various
font generation packages that will do this, or you can send it to a firm
that does this work (look in Google for "Font generation" or similar).

Then when you want to insert the signature, change to the font, type the
correct key, and hey presto - the signature. It can be whatever size your
fonts can be.

She asked how to do it in Word AND Outlook. I was trying to address the
Outlook portion of her question.
