I'm attempting to edit the footer in a Word 2003 document created by someone
else. When clicking on "header and footer" on the View menu, the header and
footer toolbar does not appear. How do I edit this footer?

You can still edit as you see fit, but you just don't have the convenience of
the toolbar

To get it back, go to View Header & Footer, Rt-Click one of the other
toolbars, choose 'Customize' & click thte Toolbars tab. Put a check in the
box for Header & Footer... while there you might also want to click on its
name, then click the Reset button justto be on the safe side.
