I am trying to base a table sort on a field containing only numbers, but it
appears to recognize the field as a text field and places, say, the number 10
adjacent to the number 1 when sorting. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in

Are you telling it to sort as numbers? That is, are you choosing "Number" as
the sort type?

I drop down the 'type' box and select 'number' from the list, yes. I am
using Word 2003 SP1

There was a space between one of the numbers that was showing up
incorrectly. The font was courier, which made it hard to identify the
