How can I customise my toolbar without word losing the info?
I have added the "Close" icon to my toolbar (i ahve even created a new
toolbar called "Close"), but as soon as Word closes it loses the change. I have done this change many times before, and word has always kept my changes. |

If you have Acrobat 7 installed, see the last section of

I have Acrobat 6. I looked at the link, and I don't think it helps.
Thanks though! "Carol" wrote: If you have Acrobat 7 installed, see the last section of http://www.gmayor.com/lose_that_adob...at_toolbar.htm -- -- Carol A. After you change something in Word and close it are you prompted to save the
Normal.dot? If not, go to Tools | Options | Save and tick that box and see if that helps you. -- Carol A. Bratt, MCP "Sarah Reynolds" wrote: I have Acrobat 6. If you are on a network, check with your IT department and see if they are
rewriting normal.dot each time you log in. (Not nice!) You can save your customizations in a separate file. See http://addbalance.com/word/movetotemplate.htm for step-by-step instructions on moving / sharing / copying / backing-up customizations including AutoText, AutoCorrect, keyboard assignments, toolbars, macros, etc. -- Charles Kenyon Word New User FAQ & Web Directory: http://addbalance.com/word Intermediate User's Guide to Microsoft Word (supplemented version of Microsoft's Legal Users' Guide) http://addbalance.com/usersguide See also the MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/ which is awesome! --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- This message is posted to a newsgroup. There are some fault conditions caused by Word crashes that can affect
Word's ability to save normal.dot. Close Word. Close Outlook. Press CTRL+ALT+Del and under 'processes' check that there are no instances of Winword.exe still running. If there are, close them. Attend to the mess caused by the crash http://www.gmayor.com/what_to_do_when_word_crashes.htm Reboot and restart Word. It should now save normal.dot again. Unless of course this relates to your other question about the Acrobat toolbar which is placed by the Acrobat add-in and nothing to do with Word. For that you need to go back to the http://www.gmayor.com/lose_that_adob...at_toolbar.htm link and refer to the parts about Acrobat 6. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Sarah Reynolds wrote: I have Acrobat 6.
