To do this you must have special softwa Adobe Acrobat or one of its
cheaper clones. For links to the latter, see http://www.gmayor.com/favorite.htm -- Suzanne S. You need the full version of Acrobat, not the Reader.

You must have Adobe Acrobat, not Adobe Reader. If you have Acrobat, you
should have an Adobe PDF toolbar. If it is not displayed, select it from the toolbar list. If it is not listed, check to make sure that PDFMaker.dot is checked in Tools | Templates and Add-ins. -- Suzanne S. You need a program that creates PDF files from other types of documents.
Adobe Acrobat is the standard of the industry, but it is also rather expensive if you don't need its full range of capability. There are other programs that create PDFs, however, and many of them are considerably less expensive. One of the most frequently mentioned here is PrimoPDF which is available at: http://www.primopdf.com/ .... And it's FREE. There are more users that use PDF for reading and as a final version of a document that needs not to be changed. It's practical. So, the point was not whether it can or cannot be changed but how to save it in a PDF format. It's not read only, but I'm sure that's not what Maureen exactly needs. More users have Adobe Reader only. For example, for my students it is far better for them that I give them materials in PDF files. They just open it, read it and print it. There can not be accidental changes. Regards |
