When i'm typing in word the cursor moves slow so i'm typing ahead of the
letters appearing; also it seems that every key stroke is being saved to my
hard drive. Back space if very slow as well. Any cures?

Re-install your video card drivers and check that there is a paging
file and it is defragmented.
