Default How can I eliminate pop-up message that template is not valid?

When I start Microsoft Word, I get a window which says: The add-in template
is not valid. (C:\...\STARTUP\~$cument\Factory.dot)

How can I eliminate this pop-up window?

Using Windows Explorer:

- In Tools Folder Options View, select "Show hidden folders and files".
- Locate the folder
C:\Documents and Settings\your name\Application
Data\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP
- Is a folder named ~$cument present there? If so, it's highly unusual,
because the ~$ prefix is a "temporary file" marker.
- Delete the file Factory.dot from the ~$cument folder. If it's now empty,
also delete the ~$cument folder itself.
- Restart Word to see if the message stops.

If you can identify which third-party software is responsible for the
add-in, you can try reinstalling or repairing that software.
