Default Moving Macros between computers in Word 2003

I have a user that has been migrated to a Citrix Server for their Office Apps
and since the move cannot access the macros stored locally on their PC. I
attempted to move the template that is stored in c:\docs and
settings\user\application data\microsoft\templates\ to the stored profile on
the Citrix Server but had no luck. Is this the correct location of the file?
If so, does anyone have any ideas on why word will not load the macros?

Leave Normal.dot and other user templates on the local machine - Normal.dot
should never be shared or accessed across a network. Use Tools Options
File Locations to make sure Word is using the right location for User
Templates Folder.

If macros are not running you might also want to look at the Security
settings - use Medium so you'll see a prompt (High disables silently) and
make sure you have the "trust all installed add-ins and templates" box
checked (that will allow macros to run in templates in the user templates
folder.

The security setting was set to high so, I reset to med. They have the
template stored locally as well as in their user profile on Citrix. Reason
for copying over is that since user logs into citrix to open the app, word
should look to the local profile for the template which in this case is
server side. We'll see if that does the trick. Waiting for response from
user. Thanks for your help!!

When you talk about "the template" I assume you are talking about
normal.dot. This is stored in the user templates folder. The exact location
is set by each user. There are various default locations depending on
version of Word and operating system. The one you mention is a possibility.
See http://word.mvps.org/faqs/customizat...alTemplate.htm for
instructions on finding normal.dot. Unless there are multiple users (or
multiple versions of Word) on a computer, there should only be one
normal.dot on the computer. For more on the different kinds of templates,
tabs on the file new dialog, and locations of templates folders see
http://addbalance.com/usersguide/templates.htm.

It is possible that your user stored the macros in some other template. I
keep virtually all of my macros elsewhere. Also, you should note that macros
are not the only user customizations. See
http://addbalance.com/word/movetotemplate.htm for step-by-step instructions
on moving / sharing / copying / backing-up customizations including
AutoText, AutoCorrect, keyboard assignments, toolbars, macros, etc.
