Default Edit and save Microsoft word documents from browser

We are working on an application that needs to read Microsoft Word
document saved as Blobs in SQL server. These Word documents have to be
displayed to the user in Internet-explorer browser. The user can edit
these documents and click on the save button that needs to be provided
in the browser.

At that point the whole document needs to be saved back as a new
Microsoft word document back into SQL-server. We are trying to figure
out the best way to accomplish this task.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I'd have a close look at the SharePoint solution that is part of Office 2003
System, if I were you.

However, I would do this in XML using InfoPath (another member of the Office
2003 Professional family).

Word 2003 will read XML, it's an alternative native format. Internet
Explorer (and most other browsers) will also read XML. The next version of
Office, 2007, will use XML as its native format.

So that's the direction I would head in, if I were you.

Cheers
