Default turn off columns on page2 leave on on page1

Insert a section break at the end of page one: On the Insert menu,
click Break. Choose "Next page", and click OK.

With the cursor in the new section, choose Columns on the Format menu.
Click "One" at Presets. Make sure Apply to is set to "This section".
Click OK.
