I am trying to insert the Article number and the page number as a footer
where the Article # will change, but the pages will keep numbering. It has
to be worded as in the sample in the Subject line above.

If the "Article" part comes from a numbered style, you should be able
to use a StyleRef field. See Word Help. You'd have to type the "Page"
part in, though.

Note that if you want this format for page numbers in the table of
contents, you are out of luck. Only numbering, no text, can be
