I don't know how to ask this.

I just bought a new computer and selected panes like the review pane in
Outlook email, the help window in Word, this web page in the discussion group
all yield HUGE font sizes.

I have tried all the formatting dialogs I could find to no avail. This make
things very unpleasant to use.

There must be a common Word thread here; but I can't find it.

Can anyone help?????

I believe these are all HTML and consequently affected by the text size
selected in Internet Explorer.

Nope. Tried that. Right now I have text size set to smallest and the pane on
this page which shows the forum topics is displaying a font around 20 - 30
points.

I thought that it might be ActiveX related but Office updates hasn't done
anything to correct the problem.

As an example. In Word...click on Help...enter "document map" in the search
field...in "Search Results", click on"Format text in Document Map pane"....I
get a HUGE box with huge text.

Not sure why Office products and certain panes in web sites are affected. I
don't understand the commonality.

BTW. Thank you for the response and the suggestion...

I found it!.

It seems that the High Contrast option was selected in the Accessibility
Options. I bought the computer from a company with XP already installed.
Somehow, this options got set.

It was blind luck finding it.
