In MS Word help file one can find this section called "Applying a style turns
off bold, italic, or underlining." Is there something else that can be done besides what they suggest by formatting after applying the style (in my documents, I need to preserve the formatting of the individual words and only apply a new look to the paragraph). May God bless you in your help given! friar John Mary |

Try just clicking in the paragraph (in a word that doesn't have your
formatting) so that nothing is selected. Apply your style. Unless your direct formatting controls most of the paragraph, it will stay in place. -- Charles Kenyon Word New User FAQ & Web Directory: http://addbalance.com/word Intermediate User's Guide to Microsoft Word (supplemented version of Microsoft's Legal Users' Guide) http://addbalance.com/usersguide See also the MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/ which is awesome! --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- This message is posted to a newsgroup. When you click in the ¶ you want to change, make sure that your cursor is in
a word that does not have any special formatting (italics, bold, superscript, etc.) applied. If your cursor IS in a word that has italics, for example, and the style you wish to apply is not italicized, that one word will lose its italics, but any other italicized words in the ¶ will stay italicized. I hope this helps. Fred _________________ If this post answers your question, please answer "Yes" to the question "Was this post helpful to you?" Thanks!
