I have multiple Excel worksheets embedded within a Word document. Some of
these worksheets should have cells linked to each other in order to properly calculate formulas. Is there a way to link one cell in one of the worksheets to the cells in another worksheet? |

You can automatically link the contents of one area to that of another
location -- be the location in the same spreadsheet, a different sheet or even a different spreadsheet entirely. When cells are linked, when the data is changed in the original cell, the linked cell will be changed automatically. Select the information that you want to have linked, by clicking-and-dragging over the cells; Click Edit -- Copy Move to the location to which you want this information linked -- a different location in the same or another spreadsheet; Press Edit -- Paste Special In the Paste special dialog box (as shown in figure 1 above), press Paste Link -- OK -- Carol A. Yes, in one excel spreadsheet type = then click on the other workbook, click
on the sheet you want, and click on the cell you want to link. THEN hit Enter. Now the spreadsheets are linked together. "nik" wrote: I have multiple Excel worksheets embedded within a Word document. Hi Nik,
To link data across multiple worksheets embedded in a Word document: .. Open the 'source' worksheet by double-clicking on it .. Select the source cells the 'target' embedded sheet is to link to .. Copy the selected cells .. Open the 'target' worksheet by double-clicking on it .. Select the upper-left 'target' cell. .. Select Edit|Paste Special .. Choose 'Paste Link' and 'Microsoft Excel # Format' .. Click OK Cheers "nik" wrote in message ... I have multiple Excel worksheets embedded within a Word document. Hi Macropod,
Except that, in my experience, the links are lost as soon as the document is closed. Are you seeing something different? I've only ever been able to get anything like this by using automation on the embedded objects to carry over the data. To link data across multiple worksheets embedded in a Word document: .. Hi Cindy,
Provided the document you're working in has been saved before you start inserting the links, everything should be fine. Cheers "Cindy M -WordMVP-" wrote in message news:VA.0000bd55.006d0a2f@speedy...
