Hi ?B?SkpPVEMyMw==?=,

What is the difference between the Password protected to open a document
from save as function and the encryption password protected document from

Which version of Word?

Hi ?B?SkpPVEMyMw==?=,

I take it, then, you're accessing the password dialog box through the "Security" selection in
the "Tools" icon at the top of the Save As dialog box? This is the same dialog box as under
Tools/Options/Security. In principle, there is no difference. However, speaking from personal
experience, I've always found it more reliable to assign the password via the Tools/Options
route, rather than over Save As.
