Default HP4000 printers and Print Margin Errors

If you have HP4000 series printer, there is no fix for the 2.67" print
margin error problem. ( One or more margins are outside the printable
area of the page. ... ) The problem is with the HP driver itself. Yes
there are workarounds, but nobody wants to do them every time they
create a new document or everytime they want to print a document.

Also, don't bother checking the
http://www.hp.com/pond/ljbeta/index.html site, as there are no beta
drivers listed for the HP4000. ( please stop referring people to that
site ) The only ones listed as of 5/4/2006 are for Windows 2000/XP:

Laserjet 4500 pcl5c and pcl6
Laserjet 8000 pcl5e and pcl6
Laserjet 8100 pcl5e and pcl6

According to the conversation with HP Support this morning:

1. If a beta driver existed, it was removed from the webpage as the
HP4000 is no longer under mainstream support.

2. A beta driver may not have ever existed for the 4000 series to fix
this issue. HP Support could not confirm that a beta version ever
existed.

If a beta copy of the driver does exist, and you have a copy of it,
please post here as I would be very interested in getting it.

Thanks,
Jeff

I have a LJ 4100 and have never seen the problem, so I've never had to
update the driver. Sorry for the bum steer.
