Can Office 2003 be used for document imaging & storage of data through Word
and Excel?

Yes. Could you perhaps be more specific in what you are looking for? Also,
what version are you upgrading from?

Charles,
Thank you. We will be updating from Office 2000 to 2003 if we will be able
to scan our Word and Excel documents. I have since found an article in PC
magazine which indicates that this is possible. Have you had experience in
this? Thank you for your reply.

Existing Word and Excel documents will transfer to Office 2003.

Yes, Office 2003 has document imaging, both scanning into TIFF format and
OCR. You need OCR to get something useful in Word or Excel. The software
that came with my scanner is better, though. Scanning to OCR results depend
very much on the quality of the original image.
