Use a custom toolbar with a button or menu item that calls your macro. BTW
macrobutton fields do work in protected forms, but not hyperlinks. You can protect only parts of a form, but there are better ways of accomplishing what you want. What you are talking about is what Word calls an "online form." Check this in help. For more about online forms, follow the links at http://addbalance.com/word/wordwebresources.htm#Forms or http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...nTheBlanks.htm especially Dian Chapman's series of articles. Charle, thank you for the information.
People come to me for help, but after looking at all this information, I feel like an over-whelmed novice. There is soooo much I did not know even existed and not enough time to search it all. Is there a place to go to find out the best way to fix my form so the people can email it back to me? When looking at MS Word website they are very generic and simple. The other sites I went into did not include emailing the form. Is this something that is not done? And if it is not done, can you tell me why? I put this question out to three different groups and you are the only person that has given information that seems as if it will even begin to answer my question. I appreciate any help you can give. The only way I know to have a button of any sort email a form is with a
macro. To me, it is simpler to put instructions in or with the form on how to attach it to an email message. (The key instruction being to first save the form to the hard drive.) The reason I say this is because in most corporate environments, your macro is not going to be allowed to run. Asking "How do I fix my form?" is a lot like asking "How do I fix my car, or my computer?" As you pointed out, they are complex. If you are going to be using Word much, it is worth your time to spend time up front learning it. The articles I recommended will take you step by step through building forms. -- Charles Kenyon Word New User FAQ & Web Directory: http://addbalance.com/word Intermediate User's Guide to Microsoft Word (supplemented version of Microsoft's Legal Users' Guide) http://addbalance.com/usersguide See also the MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/ which is awesome!
