Changing page headers in Word 2007
I would like each section (?) in Word 2007 to have a different header. I
would like the header to be the same as Heading 1 text (which I use only once at the start of each section/chapter). Is there a way of doing this in Word 2007? I appreciate that I can create a new section and manually re-create the header and footer for each section but this seems to be long-winded when all I want to do is create the same running header for the whole document (Heading 1 text for each chapter). Sounds like the StyleRef field is what you need to be using. From the
Insert menu, select Quick Parts and then select Field to take you to the Field dialog from which you can select the StyleRef field. -- Hope this helps. Thanks Doug. Works perfectly.
I see Word 2007 has taken improved useability seriously. ;-) "Doug Robbins - Word MVP" wrote in message ... Sounds like the StyleRef field is what you need to be using. Changing page headers in Word 2007
That field has been in previous versions of Word. The difference with Word
2007 is that, until you discover that the fields dialog is under what someone deemed to be "Quick Parts", you will never find it. Nothing QUICK about that. -- Hope this helps. Changing page headers in Word 2007
Or, better still, how about dragging a tagged phrase (style) into the header
area and intelligently making that a dynamic header? It's not rocket science. "Doug Robbins - Word MVP" wrote in message ... That field has been in previous versions of Word.
