Just to add to this: Everyone (including retail customers) will be able
to buy a release version of Office 2007 prior to the beta expiration
date. The retail (and OEM) versions will be released in January.

It was moved due to Vista running late. Office itself has always been on
schedule. Even if Microsoft delays Office, it will make sure that
everyone can transition easily from the beta version to the release
versions without a gap.
