Default Word 2007 should let me scan documents

In word 2003 and earlier versions you could insert documents from a scanner.
In 2007 could not locate that function.

Thanks
Mike

Hi Mike,

You aren't the only one who can't find it. The feature was there in the
previous beta version, but suddenly is missing in Beta 2. So far there
is no official explanation from Microsoft as to what happened.

Hi Mike,

To add one bit to Patrick's reploy you may also want to check this from the 'other end'. Many of the printer/scanner software
packages that are shipped have a 'Send to' choice and Word is often on that list, especially if they're going to OCR/convert the
scan to text.

That was the case on one machine I checked.
