Do you mean only in Word? (Obviously it wasn't on when you posted the
question.)

If so, you may have All Caps font formatting turned on -- this doesn't
depend on the Caps Lock key. It might be direct formatting or part of
a style definition. If you don't know how to change it, post back and
say what version of Word you're using, because the instructions are
different for various versions.
