File save attempt freezes Word. Why?
I have a 1.2MB Word file, which I have scanned with Norton and Panda, which
will not save (hour glass icon remains) and makes Word become non-responsive. What can I do to "fix" this file? -- Thanks for your help in advance, Punk Pal |

File save attempt freezes Word. Why?
Try saving as a different name and/or in a different location is usually a
good start. Also, try copying the whole document and pasting it into a new document and again save in as a diff name or location. Hopefully, you can get it saved and run diagnostics on your whole machine. File save attempt freezes Word. Why?
Well, I tried what Eric said...good advice...but didn't solve my particular
problem. I turned off the spelling and grammer check features and THAT DID SOLVE THE PROB. Now I'm wondering how to turn off that feature (spell/grammer check) on a document by document basis instead of it influencing ALL Word documents. I started another thread on that question. -- Thanks for your help in advance, Punk Pal "Punk" wrote: I have a 1.2MB Word file, which I have scanned with Norton and Panda, which will not save (hour glass icon remains) and makes Word become non-responsive.
