Default Retaining Page settings etc after copy/paste

My problem is that when I paste content from one document into another, the
Page Setup of the source document is not retained, ie the Page settings of
the target document are applied to the pasted content. This happens even if I
paste the content into a newly created section of the target document. This
means I have to manually re-establish the Page Setup of the source content.

Is there a cleverer way of merging without losing the page format?

TIA ... Greg

Only if you include a section break; see
