Template - Text Form Field
I have a template that we use to create text files with. I have several
Text Form Fields inserted in the template. Everything works alright except when a field is left blank. If the field is left blank and you save the file as a doc or a txt file, the resulting file will have "?????" where the blank field is. Is there a way to remove these question marks and leave only the blank fileds? |

The question marks appear because a text form field that has never had
any entry contains five nonbreaking spaces (the same character you can enter by pressing Ctrl+Shift+spacebar). If you display nonprinting characters by pressing the ¶ button, they appear as degree signs. Before you save the document as a text file, type at least one ordinary space character in each "blank" field. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. Thanks Jay. That clears that up for me.

Template - Text Form Field
Jay,
I have one additional question for you. If I view the template from Internet Explorer and press the F1 key to display the help information from the template, I get 2 windows. One window from the template and one from Internet Explorer. Is there a way to suppress the help window from Inmternet Explorer? Sorry, I have no idea. Someone else may stop by with an answer, or you
can try asking in an Internet Explorer newsgroup. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit.
