Default WORD.DOC LOOK LIKE BOXS

when I open a doc all I see is pages fo little squares.

It doesn't matter. Select the entire document and choose a font you DO have.

Default WORD.DOC LOOK LIKE BOXS

This is not the result you get from a missing font; Word will still display
the text, substituting a font you do have. The most likely explanation for
the squares is that the document has been corrupted by being opened directly
from removable media. See “WD2002: Unexpected Characters Are Added to Your
Document” at
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=329366. I believe it may be possible to
open the document in WordPad and retrieve the text.

Another article that might be relevant, depending on Word version, is
"Square boxes in Central European, Russian, or Greek document in Word 97" at
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=163813

See also "WD2002: Symbol Characters Are Changed to Box Characters" at
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=290978; this one frequently bites users
who think they'll "protect" a document by changing the font to something
unreadable such as Wingdings and then find they can't convert back.

I have word 2000 Sp3 allways use fonts in program. some doc are OK some are
not. changing font only changes shape of box
