template protection
Is there some way to fix (protect) a template such as a fax template so that
the main part cannot be altered and just the fax details are added to the doc - without using a form. I know you can protect the doc as a whole but i want to allow data to be entered. Yve |

You can protect just part of a document by inserting a section break and
protecting only the section containing the form fields. The other section(s) behave as normal. "Yve Ke" wrote in message ... Thank you - is it under the Toolc - Protect command??? how do you do it? I
can't see anywhere about limiting it to a section? You must first insert section breaks. Then, instead of using the padlock
icon on the Forms toolbar, use Tools | Protect Document. Depending on Word version you'll get either a dialog in which you can select the sections to protect or the Protect Document task pane, in which you must check the box for "Editing restrictions" and select "Filling out forms" before you get a choice of sections. -- Suzanne S.
