Letterhead documents in MS Word
When using MS Word, I have no way of limited the letterhead to the first page
of a multipage letter in Office 2003. I hope you fix this in the next version. It is sophmoric to have to send a 3 page letter with letterhead on all three pages. It is possible to create a letter with a different header on the first page.
It's sophomoric (the correct spelling) to post this publicly without asking if it can be done beforehand. -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] "Mike" wrote in message ... Indeed, that doesn't look very professional. Too bad you didn't know about
First Page Headers. http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/Letterhead.htm "Letterhead for a multi-page letter Whether youčre using preprinted letterhead or creating the letterhead as part of your letter, you may run into the problem of what to do when your letter is more than one page long. Whether you have inserted your letterhead in the header or just allowed a deeper margin to accommodate it, you dončt want the letterhead or deeper margin on the second page. Users sometimes go to extraordinary lengths to work this out, but the procedure is really quite simple." It would be sophomoric indeed if you had to do that, but you don't.
You need to know that Word has a "first page header" that you enable in the File Page Setup dialog. See http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/Letterhead.htm for full instructions. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit.
