Default Lost Autotext

This is probably a simple on but not for me.
Word 2002, Windows 2000
I have been provided with a template from a shared foler, that I saved as a
template into the local Templates folder. It contains several autotext
entries.
I select File - New - General Templates and open a new document based upon
the template. When I need to use the autotext that is contained in the
original template, it is there for me. If I need to work on the file on a
different computer(ie, e-mail to myself at home or grab the file via VPN
connection to my home directory) the autotext is not there for me. Why is
the autotext not available, and how do I correct this problem.
Thanks
Paul

As a followup comment, the autotext generates tables with a lot of custom
formatting.

The AutoText entries are stored only in the template, *not* in the
document based on the template.

When you work on the document on the original computer, Word loads the
template "in the background" and the AutoText entries are available.
But if you move the document to another computer and don't also copy
the template, the AutoText entries are left behind.

To solve the problem, copy the template as well as the document, and
place it in the Templates folder on the other computer.

THanks, that works, of course.
