I'm trying to insert page nos. into a document that is in portrait then
landscape then portrait. The page numbering is ok from portrait to landscape but when the document changes back to portrait the page number goes from the previous portrait section. Any ideas? Puzzlingly, the overall no. of pages is correct. |

Place the cursor in the section where page numbering is wrong. On the
View menu, click Header and Footer. On the Header and Footer toolbar, click the Format Page Number button. Click "Continue from previous section" and then click OK. Close the header/footer area. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "owend" wrote in message ... I'm trying to insert page nos. into a document that is in portrait then landscape then portrait. Had tried clicking in footer & doing this but it didn't work. Doing it this

Glad I could help.
Probably you weren't looking at the correct section at your first attempt. If you were using the Next and Previous buttons (on the Header and Footer toolbar), the cursor didn't necessarily move to a new section, since a section can have up to three different headers (and footers). -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "owend" wrote in message ...
