Default Footnotes in Word 2003

I am having a problem formatting footnotes in an MS Word 2003 document.

The document uses footnotes at the end of each page. However, when I type
more information on the page, it pushes the footnotes to the next page
instead of the text I just typed. This makes it difficult, because the
reference to the footnote is on one page and the footnote ends up on the next
page. The only way I have been able to get around it is to add a manual page
break just before the text pushes the footnotes to the next page. Any help
on solving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting...OnDiffPage.htm .
But if the footnote number is relatively close to the bottom of
the page, then there might not be enough room for the footnote
text to appear on the same page as the footnote number.

Are you typing the footnotes manually or using Insert | Reference |
Footnote? You should not have the problem if you are using the latter
method.

Thanks. The document itself is double spaced, but the footnotes are signle
space. The document is 12 pt Times New Roman double spaced. The footnotes
are 10 pt. Times New Roman single spaced. I will try the exact spacing
mentioned in the article.
