Has anyone created an update to correct this problem. I have Office 2003(word
2003, outlook 2003) I click on Work Go to the mail merge wizard choose letter try to choose outlook contacts and then I get a message that says this operation can not be completed because of dialog or database failure please try again later Why doesn't it work? I know several people have written a similiar question and it seems the only solution is to run mail merge from outlook. Is that the only alternative or can the Microsoft programmers correct this bug? Thank you for your help. |

The tools for merge starting from Outlook are far superior to those from
trying it the other way around so it is hardly worth the effort of trying to fix a problem that has been created by Word's security measures. See if the relevant link at http://www.gmayor.com/mail_merge_lab...th_word_xp.htm helps, otherwise http://www.gmayor.com/mailmerge_from_outlook.htm -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org rllngriver wrote: Has anyone created an update to correct this problem. ![]() Sorry. I meant to say not allow. I fixed it, though. It seems to be an update that may have caused this. I ran detect and repair which brought be back to the default installation settings. It now works by using Word and then choosing outlook contacts as the source for the recipients. Thank you for your time.
