I cut some information then decided I wanted to delete it. I can only paste.

I don't understand your problem... If you cut somthing, then don't bother to paste it anywhere, that's pretty much the same thing as deleting it, except for it will sit on the clipboard until you clear it or overwrite it... Or select a single character and copy it to replace the cut material on the

Chris' reply is all you need - once it is cut, it's cut/removed/deleted - but if it will make you feel better, go ahead & paste, then select what you pasted & press the Delete key.
