I would like to insert todays date automatically when I open a template.
This is not a problem since I select insert date and tick automatically update. However, I would like to save the document with today's date so that when I open it tomorrow or next week I still have today's date. How can I do this? Thanks, Ming |

Hi Ming

Then -- don't tick "automatically update"! :-) If you don't, then Word inserts normal text. If that's not what you want, then use a different field (SAVEDATE, PRINTDATE, CREATEDATE --- look those up in Word's offline help). Thanks Robert
Not trying to trick it. Just ignorant that there are these choices. Ming "Robert M. Franz (RMF)" wrote: Hi Ming If that's not what you want, then use a different field (SAVEDATE, PRINTDATE, CREATEDATE --- look those up in Word's offline help). HTH Robert |
