Ruler does not "snap to" properly
When I try to indent or outdent, either by dragging the icons on the ruler or
by clicking the automatic indent/outdent buttons, the ruler doesn't "snap to" the half-inch or quarter-inch measurements. For instance, if I try to indent half an inch, the cursor snaps to 0.48 instead. I have ensured that the default measurement for the ruler is "inches." I know I can press ALT while dragging, but I'd rather not have to!! Any suggestions? |

If the Drawing toolbar isn't already displayed, display it by
clicking on View | Toolbars | Drawing. On the Drawing toolbar, click on Draw | Grid | Horizontal spacing: 0.125" | Vertical spacing: 0.125" | check the "Use margins" box | Default | Yes | OK. The 0.125" you enter in the spacing boxes will probably change to display as 0.13", but that's okay. Rats, rats, that didn't work! The horizontal spacing was, in fact, off... but
changing it to 0.125 doesn't correct the problem, even making it the default and even in a new document. It still snaps to 0.48" instead of 0.5". Did you tick the "Use margins" box? If you did, then try
unticking it. Jen (SixFootJen) wrote: Rats, rats, that didn't work! That did it! "Use margins" had been ticked, and unticking it worked. Thank
you so much. "garfield-n-odie [MVP]" wrote: Did you tick the "Use margins" box? If you did, then try unticking it. Jen (SixFootJen) wrote: Rats, rats, that didn't work!
