Default Putting instructions that don't print

I wish to place instructions on a standard letter but don't want them to
print on the letter. I use Word 2000. Any suggestions

Use hand-written Post It notes.

You must be kidding. I asked a serious question.
For onyone else, is there a way to do this. I have many different form
letters, each of which requires certain steps to be taken. I need a reminder
or instruction list either for myself or co-workers as to what to do with the
letter.

You can select the text you do not want to print and from the Format | Font
menu select Hidden. This appears with dotted underline on screen but does not
print. Alternatively, you might also try using the inserting Comment. Does
this help?

You could use form fields or [Click here and type name] MacroButton fields
(see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFm...croButton.htm), but your
best bet would probably be a UserForm to collect all the required
information and insert it automatically; see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Userforms/CreateAUserForm.htm.
